Privacy policy

Summary

Biblio does not collect any information about you. There is no account to create, and the app contains no analytics, advertising, tracking or crash reporting, and no code from other companies that could collect data. Motomatic LLC does not run a server for the app, and the app sends it nothing. The only personal information Motomatic LLC receives is what you choose to send by email (see Writing to us).

What you add stays yours

Your highlights, notes, bookmarks, tags, memory verses, prayers and reading progress are stored on your device. If your device is signed in to iCloud, the app also keeps them in your private iCloud database so they sync between your devices, and keeps your settings in iCloud. Only you can read your private iCloud data; Motomatic LLC cannot see it. Apple’s iCloud terms and privacy policy apply to that storage.

You can export a backup file at any time; what you do with that file is up to you.

In the app’s Settings, under Reset, Delete All My Data removes your highlights and highlight colors, notes, bookmarks, tags, reading history, memory verses, prayers, and reading plan and devotional progress, from the device and, when iCloud is on, from iCloud and your other devices. It also clears your recent searches, which are kept on the device only, and removes your prayer and reading plan reminders, including any still shown in Notification Center.

It leaves your settings, which Reset All Settings sets back to their defaults on the device and in iCloud, and the modules you imported or downloaded, which you delete in the app’s Library.

Deleting the app removes what it stored on the device, but not your data in iCloud: the private copy and your settings stay there, so a reinstalled app or another of your devices can restore them. To remove them as well, use Delete All My Data and Reset All Settings before you delete the app.

When the app uses the network

The app works offline. It connects to the network only:

• to download a module you ask for, or a newer version of a module you downloaded, from Apple’s servers (Apple’s Background Assets service);
• to sync your data and settings through your iCloud account;
• to load map tiles from Apple Maps while a map is open.

Apple handles the downloads, iCloud sync and map tiles under its own privacy policy.

A link to a web page opens in Safari, outside the app, and an email address opens in your email app; the app itself shows no web pages. A web page you open is governed by that website’s policy; the app sends it nothing about you.

If you have chosen in your device’s settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may give Motomatic LLC crash reports and overall usage figures for the app. That sharing is Apple’s, under Apple’s privacy policy, and you can turn it off in Settings, Privacy & Security, Analytics & Improvements.

Other features

• Read aloud uses the speech voices on your device. The text is not sent anywhere.
• Reminders for reading plans, prayers and the verse of the day are scheduled on your device. The app asks for permission to send notifications only when you turn a reminder on.
• The verse of the day widget reads verses the app stores on your device.
• The app does not ask for your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
• Report, for a problem with a text, prepares a message with the module and its version, the verse, its text and the app version, either as an email to support@biblebe.lt in your email app or to share another way. Nothing is sent unless you send it yourself, to the recipient you choose; a report you email to us is covered under Writing to us.

Writing to us

If you email support@biblebe.lt, Motomatic LLC receives your email address, your message and anything you put in it, such as your device model, system version and app version, or the verse text of a problem report. It is used only to answer you and to fix what you report. It is not sold, and it is not used for marketing.

Messages are kept while the conversation is open and for up to one year after the last reply, then deleted. To have your messages deleted sooner, ask at the same address.

Mail to that address passes through the email service that receives mail for the address and the mailbox provider that stores it for Motomatic LLC, under their own privacy policies.

Children

The app collects no information from anyone, including children.

This website

This website sets no cookies, runs no scripts and loads nothing from other sites. It is hosted on GitHub Pages, and GitHub may record the address of computers that visit it for security, as described in GitHub’s privacy statement; Motomatic LLC does not receive those records.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Questions: support@biblebe.lt.
